The content ecological matrix of Zhihu, Kuaishou & Baidu

Zhihu secured USD 434 million in the latest round of financing from investors including Kuaishou and Baidu.


China's largest question-and-answer website Zhihu (知乎), which is similar to Quora, just completed USD 434 million F-round financing recently. The investment is led by Kuaishou (快手), one of the biggest short video platforms in China. The Chinese search engine giant Baidu also took part in this funding.

Zhihu is well-recognized as a platform with quality content and professional knowledge on various aspects of China. With this cooperation, Zhihui can ensure more traffic from the Baidu search engine. A short video is important to Zhihu too. With Kuaishou’s expertise in short video technology, Zhihu users would have a better tool to share content on the platform in short video format.

Kuaishou generally is for mass users that have a grassroots image. The cooperation with Zhihu is a step for Kuaishou to absorb elite and intellectual users.

Baidu, having search engine service as its core business, can benefit by providing search results with better content for its users through the cooperation with Zhihu.
