Trends and tips for Chinese short video marketing by Red Digital Lab.
Douyin Challenge Report 2019 was published on April 2019, revealing important trends and successful #ShortVideoMarketing strategies.
Among all types of challenges, Super Challenges were the most popular. Their #AI make-up, red packet challenges and #AR interactive technologies attracted over 800 million participants.
According to the report, these are the three most important strategies to create successfully, high-traffic challenges: (1) creative titles e.g. attitude-based names like “#vivo is my logo” most effectively resonate with users; (2) user interaction, e.g. designing cool, beautiful or funny stickers to attract users’ participation, but brand names should not occupy too much space in stickers; (3) #KOL or #CelebrityMarketing, but businesses should ensure that KOLs have high traffic and quality fan bases.
